American household debt service burden has remained the same for twenty years. It's a NON-ISSUE. Repeat: NON-ISSUE. Quit complaining about our reliance on foreign savings. Americans are no more credit-dependent than we have been for decades. On the other hand, those folks overseas are more reliant than ever on US consumers for their jobs. The US is their most important market by a mile. They make what we decide to buy (and generally design). We don't buy what they decide to make.
