I don't think I've seen speculation like that since the tech bubble of 2000 !

>>and suspect terrorists were planning to plant a chemical bomb<<

>>"An attack by an al Qaeda terrorist commando on the American embassy might have been just days away, or even hours away," <<

>>potassium ferrocyanide -- was harmless in itself but could easily have been turned into a deadly gas <<

>>They might have reached the air conditioning units<<

>>a bomb might also have triggered a gas explosion<<

>>If the flames had moved along the pipes<<

I understand pre-emptive activity requires extra caution on skimpy details, but so far, the only details that stand out are that some guys had a non-lethal chemical and someone was digging a hole in a suspicious place.

>>Nine Moroccans are now in custody in connection with the case and they all deny wrongdoing. <<

Nine experts and journalists also deny wrongdoing. The jury is still out on both.
