Skeeter, I think when people say equities, they are mostly talking about the large cap stocks. Someone posted an article on another thread which showed that if you take the largest 50 stocks out of the S&P500, the PE ratio was below 15 and many of those other 450 stocks represented good values. Put the top 50 back in and the PE was above 22 and almost none of the top 50 represented good values. I think the article was entitled the Stealth Bull Market and they were making reference to the great performance of small cap value and growth stocks. This is the type of due diligence that money managers bring to the table. They sniff out where you can make money, when all the reporters are saying EVERYTHING is bad. So think again before you buy that commone thread that equities aren't the place to be. Good luck!
