I did not know that LRCX had derivatives problems. As for their technology, it also includes CMP, which is a growth sector of the industry. I don't know how to value these companies, but the market has often put a price of 20 times peak earnings, and if 300 mm is deployed, their peak earnings could reach $1.5/share. Financially, they did a pretty good convert deal some six months ago, so they are flush with cash. Sure it could go back to the $15 area, if the SOX finally yield, but if the sox continues in its merry ways, it could run to $30 or so.
