I haven't been finding too many great deals lately. I'm just not seeing much in what's being poster here. Either this thread has gone downhill (or off topic, which I think is the case), or I'm getting too picky.

Here's one which I think meets the thread criteria. A money making company, basic industry that even Warren B. would understand, 14% ROE, 9 PE, upfront management, nobody selling & management not excessively paid.

"...record earnings of $6.89 per diluted share for its fiscal year ended November 30, 2001, compared to $6.41 per share in 2000. Sales were $551.4 million in 2001 and $550.7 million in 2000.. . We are cautious about 2002. However, longer term, we are confident of Ameron's earning capacity and its ability to continue to operate at record levels.''

They are number 1 in their markets served. Water transmission (western US), fiberglass pipe (worldwide), concrete (hawaii), light poles (US), coatings (worldwide).

2% dividend.
