You should check out CUC International (symbol CU). They are the leading membership based discounter. They have almost 60 million members and are a leader in internet retailing.

Recently they announced they are going to merge with HFS - giving CUC access to your spending habits if you rent from AVIS, or stay at Howard Johnson's or Day's Inn (don't quote me on Day's Inn)

BTW, I am a shareholder in CUC.
