No, no, no. The mainstream, respectable Southern apologists don't glorify the slavery part nor the KKK. They gloss over that part. It's irrelevant to the glory part, which focuses on the intellectual argument that the South had the right to secede and form a new nation based on the theory that the Constitution was a compact which could be abrogated for good cause.

Then there's a lot of stuff about glorious ancestors and the loss of a gracious way of life (leaving aside the issue of who did the dirty work). But no glorification of slavery nor the KKK, at least not at the higher echelons. That's trailer park trash stuff, for people who have at least one vehicle up on blocks in their front yard.

All Southerners may look alike if you're a Yankee, but we are very particular about our taxonomy here.-g-
