Never, in all likelihood. Of course, no one minded as much in an UP market 2-4 years ago. The same people that were probably spreading hype a few years ago are doing the same mudslinging now, seeing what will stick. They figure that if they fling 4-5 rumors that one or two will probably cause panic. The only thing I can do as a small investor is try my best to watch the markets carefully and try to sell quickly when necessary and buy when an overreaction occurs. The same nimble approach is warranted for those that short too.
