I would tend to agree with that as far as intersystem stuffs concerned. For instance the procedure of GSM to 1x handoff is defined but I don't know it is fully tested or not. However your definition of immature and my def of immature may be different. To me anything not rigourously tested to be working are immature. If you just talked putting stuffs on paper then it is<ggg>

On the other hand, comparing with say WCDMA, the immature points in GSM1x are different. The CDMA part in the GSM1x are way mature now, the most challenging parts are mostly software and higher layers thing. The intersystem stuffs are both somewhat untested, be it GSM1x or WCDMA/GSM.

One thing I agree with you is that GSM1x is carrier driven. So hope Q can make some carriers make the move.
