500 meters to 4 km? BFD, fixed wireless should give you enough room to walk past your mail box. No one wanted most of Vesper's licences because they were in many of the backwater areas of Brazil. I bet it takes some of the people in these areas 5 minutes to drive to their mail box.

The operators in India went ballistic over the same issues. They did not want WLL to have limited mobility since it encroached on the mobile, wireless services. They settled on restricting WLL subs in India from making international phone calls.

You know that CDMA WLL is beginning to stir the soup. I would like to hear more "accusations" from other operators about WLL.
