OT: Usefulness of handguns. I won't go hiking in certain areas not far from where I live because there are animals there that might eat me. If I did go hiking there I would want a weapon. Rifles and shotguns are heavy - I don't want to own either, anyway, because I'm not a hunter - a powerful handgun I could wear would be quite practical. Don't want to get further into the debate.
