Everything Christ did during His time on earth had already been seen from the beginning of recorded time through the Jews. The law of the Jews was merely a tool used by God to show His people how much they truly needed Him. This golden rule you speak of is not the foundation of the Christian faith. To love The Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul is the Golden Rule of Christianity, and also of Judaism, the religion that Christianity stemmed from. That is why Christ said that He came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it. My point in this is that, there was no religion before Christ, because Christ is from the beginning. Any talk of love comes directly from the source, which is Christ, and He is the one to whom all credit is due. Man can look at nature an observe what the principle laws are. Karma is an example of this. What you give out, is returned in increasing measure. However, this is the same as you reap what you sow. Sow a crop of righteousness and that is what you reap. Christ is religion. There is nothing apart from Him. He has been here, amongst the people of the world from the dawn of time. Without Him there would be no love, and there would be no life.
