Just before the mkt closed CNBC had a pro/con debate about the CPQ/HWP deal. Unfortunately, the pro was late. The con, Vince Farrell, took apart the deal because (1) HWP's printer business was more profitable and (2) why buy another PC business when that sector is in trouble. The pro, ??? (who arrived late) GOT A FEW WORDS AND HIS only REASON for the DEAL was that buying CPQ's computer business at this price was relatively cheap - otherwise the merger wasn't that great ---- YES, this was the PRO deal guy Anyone undecided watching the debate(??) would NEVER vote FOR it !!!! This debate was horrific and noone brought up any ++s
