We also did a seller finance of one of our rental properties. Receiving a very nice interest payment. It is interesting to me that (although this is anecdotal) I remember reading about people taking out seconds and re-fi's on their homes to BUY stock during the market highs... I'm not sure a converse scenario (cashing out and into real estate) can be extrapolated as a signal of the bottom..just one of those things that makes you go...hmmmmmmmmmmm. <g>
