If that is the case, then I will not hold back from applauding. But I'll stay a little pessimistic beforehand just so I don't get disappointed. ;)

That is a good point, though. Infrastructure for Hammer looks to be incredibly superior to what it was when K7 came out. If you remember back then, AMD had to beg VIA to come out with a half-assed effort of a chipset several months after the processor appeared, Asus (now one of AMD's most approved clients) shipped their motherboards in plain brown boxes with no advertisements or even info/support on their website, allegedly because they were afraid of repercussions from Intel, and companies like Abit and Tyan just laughed out loud if you asked them about AMD motherboards. Now, chipsets could very well be out (or at least in advanced sampling stages) in Q4 from no less than three chipset makers, and an additional two more will likely follow a quarter or two after. Additionally, AMD does not have to wait on chipset makers when they need to support a faster memory standard.
