Jim, Yes, and I have a chart for you. futures.tradingcharts.com There's much I try to learn from lumber about coming economic activity - it correctly saw the current downturn when it broke down in Jan-Feb of 2000. I also wonder if this extra cost (estimated at between $2000-$4000/home) will help weigh down the homebuilders, which may be unsucessful in passing on that cost to the buyer. I see the group as going through a distribution phase this Spring. The interest rate cycle is about to turn against them - I don't think they can escape their cyclic nature forever. OTOH, part of distribution is capitalizing on short interest, so I'm waiting and watching. Congrats on HC. -Josh.
