Liz, did you notice that Pd demand from developing countries nearly doulbed in 2001, while falling everywhere else? Even a return to 2000 levels of consumption by Europe and NA would put the Pd market back into a deficit if the developing nations begin to like better air (it motivated you, didn't it?).

I also think that the engineering that reintroduced Pt as a catalyst when Pd was hovering near $1000 can just as quickly take advantage of the $100 price difference between Pt and Pd. Should there be any price difference in the two if they can be used interchangeably as catalysts? Given time, Pd will return to parity with Pt.
