Good evening Hank,
With all due respect, how can Zitel/Matridigm be so far behind the eight ball when most of the companies/govermental agencies haven't even fully assesed their own problems? For example, how many State governments have even awarded y2k contracts? I realize the next question is going to be-aren't the number of days prior to y2k becoming fewer and fewer? You're right. What the longs believe is that as the number of days left to y2k become less and less, the cost per line of conversion will become higher and higher. For example, IMRS recently was awarded a contract for code conversion that amounted to a cost of >$1.30 per llne. What will the price be one year from now? Who knows. Of course, it is possible that as the process becomes more efficient, the cost per conversions may even come down. But, given these two alternatives, I believe that most longs would choose the former.
As for when will something come out of MD-good question. All I can say is for you to keep your eye on the Federal government. The answer lies buried in the posts attributed to Bonnie's Guy. Sorry, that is as specific as I can be at this time.

Sincerely,

Jas
