So you suggest we throw the baby out with the bath water?

No, you can't say Islam is not a religion. Everybody knows it is and the USSC will say it is and is protected by the 1st Amendment.

How about we say whatever your religion is isn't a religion and can be banned.

BTW, you've got a problem with that whole 1st Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Seems like freedom of speech is involved in here too.

You just want to throw away the Constitution? Then you'd better worry about what you get on the other side of it.
New Constitutional Conventions have been considered from time to time. But never convened. The problem is that you can't limit them to just one small area. Remember, the guys who wrote our current Constitution went into Constitution Hall with instructions to "fix" the Articles of Confederation. Instead they came out with a whole new Constitution.

And as far as the changing the things you want, there are others who don't. Like me. And I won't go quietly.
