Chambers is so well-compensated by Cisco that he shouldn't be bothering with small investments in technology companies where there could be any possibility of a conflict.

That said, I don't think there's much substance to this story. Even if he hadn't given away the shares he got from the acquisitions, would it make any sense for him to make a bad deal for Cisco shareholders in any of these cases. A bad deal would drive down the value of his Cisco shares and options (estimated at 1 BILLION in value at one time), and he would do that just so he could make $5 million in an acquisition?
