mind, it is not a RULE that one must always be in the market. i agree there is value out there, though i'm not sure we agree on the magnitude of it. i don't compare current values to bubble highs, i compare them to historical norms. in many cases, a pe of 15 is awfully rich, imho.

if i had the time, i'd do more investigating. however, work and family keep my busy right now and i'm not going to risk my retirement / savings w/o the proper due dilly just b/c retreating isn't the answer. actually since i left the market in 2/00, it has been a very nice answer. :-)
