I sit here half listening to the hearings and i wonder how many others question the method in which we are SEC sanctioned.
I believe Lay had an idea of what was going on as usually when you don't you are not wise enough to protect yourself legally so those that get hit are normally the honest characters in the group.
I dont agree with AG that our accounting system is superior. Education to take full advantage of the system is what is superior. That is transparency in action I suppose but it all depends on whose actions you are looking out for. We can't take this kind of risk for the people like it or not the government and the people must operate as one. The government must realize that changing our rules is far less of a problem than a future that holds the possibility of zip retirement in pensions and enormous welfare costs.
