If you really believe that, then I can see you've not had very much people management experience. Chambers is a competitor and Cisco as a company should leave no one in doubt that they are true and formidable competitors. Their market share is a testament to that fact. However, what makes it such a powerful franchise is that employees flock to the company. Chambers and staff know how to make it an attractive place to work and how to motivate people to go to extraordinary lengths. Just read any of the bios they have out there on Cisco executives and how it is routinely ranked as one of the best places to work. It's called win-win. In the information era, people are you largest and most critical asset. If you piss people away, then you are ensuring your own demise in the long term. Chambers gets it. So again, I'm glad he's CEO and not you.
