That's a downplay, if I've ever heard one.

Of course, we all know you are excited about Hammer, and eager to pooh-pooh anything exciting from Intel, but maybe you can answer the question on how competitive a Hammer processor can be if Intel can get a significantly higher clock frequency. Maybe AMD will get Hammer to clock much higher than Athlon, but Anand still thinks they aim to launch at 2GHz, while he also thinks that Intel is aiming for 4GHz next year. Right now, Intel is able to keep up with the Athlon while running 32% higher in frequency. Will Hammer's IPC improvements make much of a difference, if Intel can ramp frequencies to the point where they are, say, 60% ahead in frequency?
