Doug and ST:

I just finished iteration #1 of the DeMark
Sequential. Given historical price data for
a stock it finds all complete sequentials
("9's" followed by "13's") but does not
qualify them. I am still working on putting
in the qualifiers. I just ran an example
(IOMEGA) over the last 2 years and found 7
complete but "unqualified" sequentials.
Can one of you guys confirm the valid
ones and offer your comments? Here is what
my code put out:

IOM SEQUENTIALS IN LAST 2 YEARS:

"9" "13" TYPE

08/30/95 10/13/95 BUY
11/14/95 12/27/95 SELL
03/01/96 04/08/96 SELL
04/08/96 05/07/96 SELL
09/30/96 12/03/96 SELL
12/18/96 02/05/97 BUY
02/11/97 03/24/97 BUY

Doug, is the third "SELL" countdown
disqualified? For that one count 13
coincides with a fresh 9 setup. What
about the others? I know the last "13"
on 3/24/97 is valid because it was also
reported on this thread by Duane Davis
(the official DeMark S/W guy). It also
proved to be a turning point for IOM
but this is only an isolated example.

ST, between the two of us it shouldn't be
long before we know if the sequential has
merit. I would appreciate it if you can
publish your sequential result for IOM
(or any other stock) so that we can compare
notes. Finally, with this code in place and
assuming we have the time and energy, we can
vary the parameters and define and evaluate
new "overbought" and "oversold" sequential
signals slightly different from those given
by DeMark. Does that make any sense to do?

Best regards,

John
