>>I was thinking, how do those who are betrayed by their intellects into denying God, cope with such tragedies? How forlorn life must seem to those who see a universe of only random chaos. For those whose egos blind them to a Truth larger than themselves, how pointless and barren life must seem at such times ... hardly worth living at all.<<

Here is a viewpoint that has been expressed before on this thread (Hi, Greg), but I fail to understand it.

Why is life pointless without a diety, but not with one?
If one deity gives meaning to your life, why not many deities?
Is Yahweh the only way to avoid a universe of "only random chaos"? What about Isis or Athena? Would they bring some order and non-chaos to the universe?

These questions are asked in sincerity, and I hope you give them thought and give me a sincere answer.

Thanks,
-Mitch
