We must think alike...

...cause I read it the way you thunked it, instead of the way you typed it.

That was an interesting bit on .wma files.
Thanks for the details.

I definitly see MSFT having their nose where it doesn't belong. They are able to attach personal info to a data file in the name of piracy prevention.
If that's the case there is no telling how much personal info they have but have not disclosed.
Even if that info is as simple as an IP address and a chip ID number by Intel.

It's not right.
One way or another they will eventually force us to use something of theirs to be able to listen to music.
They seem to be in the forefront of Digital Rights Management.

I certainly do not intend on using their media player even though Real Networks is probably in the process of doing the same thing.

I wonder how much stuff gets sent back to MSFT as far as which sites we like to frequent and other stuff.
They really could have an incredibly valuable data base someday gearing all sorts of marking and advertising our to individuals...

Their new browser can stop cookies from send info out to various websites. I would doubt that MSFT would have to rely on a cookie to find out info. There's no telling what all those megabytes of OS do behind the scenes.
They could virtually block out all other websites if the correct amount of scare tactics were implied.

Someday Microsoft will be Big Brother.
