Wrong!!!! I was a solid Democrat for years. Not only lived in the state of Massachussets...but went to JFK's inaugural and met Jack and Jackie as an 18 year old! And then I voted for Dems until 1992...( I voted for Mike Dukakis against Bush Sr. in 1988)... Then all of a sudden, I wised up! I saw so many things happening in this country that I didn't believed in... and I wondered what I had been thinking! All that talk about saving the poor, feeding the hungry, reaching out to other countries where life was riddled with crime, drugs, and civil wars. We were going to fix all of that by giving money! And it has all fallen apart! What we need now is to look at our own mess...in our own country and communities. We need stronger programs that help our poor families become self-sufficient, head start programs that require that at least one parent become involved in the future of their children, that family is recognized as a strong part of our future, and that the killing of the unborn child is recognized as a weakness in our society...and not simply a woman's right to make a choice. No -g-...there are no funny issues here...(to me these are serious issues).
