Those tests may have indicated a horrible scaling problem for the present implementation of SMT. A dual processor web server should be able to handle hundreds, if not thousands, of sessions. But the SMT "advantage" dropped by 50% going from 25 users to 100 users. Can we expect a tie at 200 connections and a non-SMT enabled machine to be faster with 300 connections or more?
