Re: My head is spinning from what's to be!

Here's a temporary cure for you. The high end mobile market is something like 4 million chips at an ASP of something like $250.

AMD's 15 watt SOI 1400+ will be the only part available for that market in Q3 and Q4 of this year (low voltage PIIIs would fit in the boxes, but sub 1GHZ parts won't fit the bill for "high end" in the second half of this year.

That looks likely to shift close to $1 Billion in revenue from Intel to AMD for Q3 and Q4 of this year (sometime in 2003, banias will put Intel back into this particular ballgame).

AMD with $1.5 Billion to $2 Billion in quarterly revenue could afford to put into place the other half of the Dresden plant rather quickly (say, end of 2003). All they need to do is have the same crews that built, equipped, and set up Dresden do it again on the lot next door.

If Dresden could process 10,000 SOI wafers per week instead of 5,000 by the end of next year, it would let the Hammers move to a whole new level of dominance.
