Jon, good point about keeping the 6-9 p.m. hour away from the "cheapos". However, that being said, once PCS upgrades to 1XRTT this summer, they should be able to either "offer more minutes no one will be able to use" [that shouldn't attract many more customers], or perhaps, if they can handle increased traffic earlier in the evening, they can relax the "night time" hour slot to begin at say, 8 p.m.
This could be an excellent marketing plan to attract new customers as the system capacity increases. After all, if you can't offer the customer more minutes because they don't need them; can't afford to give them a lower service price because you don't want to reduce revenues, >> then you are forced to play around with the plan minutes and/or structure of the plans to give them more options.
Someone is going to have to be more innovative to differentiate themselves from the other carriers, if they want to survive and prosper. I would think that "designer pre-paid plans" might be in order [like, build your own plan for a $$], or offer more flexibility with the night time minutes.
As I get older, I find more and more of my long distance friends and relatives are already heading for bed after shortly 9 p.m. so they can get to work by 6-7 am. PCS should want to max out the system and increase profits, so they don't become another Globalstar - unutilized minutes and less customers wanting to use those minutes.
OK, Maurice ... bring on the "whacky wireless" ..... :)
Just my thoughts,
Now back to LWIN ......
