John,
Stock splits tend to be viewed in a favorable manner on Wall Street. Specific benefits would include:

1) Making shares more available to institutions. More shares could encourage more institutional ownership which is about 31% now.
2) Could lower the bid / ask spread. Small cap stocks with a small float tend to have higher bid/ask spreads.
3) Price action after a stock split has been positive in the past especially for small cap companies.( Tends to be viewed as a signal of more good things to come )

* PACC may wait until the stock approaches $30 before having a stock split

* I would love to see the company announce a stock split at a price above $20.
