it's not like, in their private, heart of hearts ~ regardless of political party ~ most Americans don't realize that Dubya is a lightweight, an unworldly doofus; or that Ashcroft is at times a frightening zealot :-/
it's just that, you know ~ we really are "at war", DJ ~ we'll rally around the leaders, keep the flag out until the men & women in harm's way come home.
and there is this titanic struggle going on over here, to try and pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, stanch the bleeding jobs, get the domestic economy going again ~ and yes, pull up the EU and try to keep Japan solvent.
If it looks like we're acting unilaterally it's prolly because we feel so alone.
