I'm watching GTW take a hit on zero earnings prospects for 2002.. thinking that we''re really down to three brands for PC's soon. DELL, IBM, HP (with CPQ merger).. then of course APPL (which operates in its own universe and doesn't impact PC world appreciably). So DELL must be taking market share, yet I've never been able to understand their mailers that regularly show up.. Last year their stock did well after the early March sell-off into April, will look to play that again.

Can't help but wonder about the Gateway choice of advertising.. all those Olympic cow jokes, did they really sell or just amuse? If I had their account I would have gone head to head, or herd to herd, against Dell's product line.. the midwest against Texas. Certainly couldn't have done worse.
