IMHO, anyone who standardizes Active X in their enterprise will be a dream come true to MSFT and to their shareholders, but they will eventually be fired. Here's why. Active X will turn the browser into a shell that calls....Office 95 and soon 97. So, standardization on Captive X means 500.00 upgrades per user per year. I don't think many IS people are that ignorant, but MSFT spends alot of money making people feel good about how much they spend on their software. Kind of like that scene from the movie 'Dave'. Then again most CIO's don't expect more than 2 yrs of life at any large scale corporation.
