If we do organized system testing then the stocks chosen for the test should reflect various criteria such as price level, average volume, relative strength, earnings growth, etc. Then we can see which rules apply to which type of stocks....or whether the same rules can applt to all stocks. The same applies to the market or sectors;does it make a difference if the market is strong or weak or flat;should you only apply the rules to sectors that are also obeying the rules? Etc.
What I am trying to point out is that the concept of applying one indicator to all stocks under all market conditions for all investors(traders?) having differing risk tolerences is a fallacy. At TAINJ i'll be stressing the point that multiple indicators/time frames are neccessary to provide flexibility.
