I don't entirely agree with you. Some children are born competitors. If they are introduced to a sport at an early age and ENJOY what they are doing, I see no harm in encouraging them and giving them the opportunity to advance. If they later appear to be "burning out", it is a parent's job to recognize that, and encourage them to go in a different direction. Having said that, I realize that some parents push a child into something the child really doesn't want, usually in entertainment or sports. I do not approve of that. BG
