States of emergencies don't bother me most of the times. The people are quite friendly and you should expect a great time. It is just that you should have some knowledge of current events and be somewhat streetwise. March 21st is the first day of spring. India's Parsis, the Afghans, Tajiks, and Iranians (as well as a slew of other people in that region (defined broadly) celebrate their new year on March 21. There are special ceremonies going on until April 2. So it is possible that you may run into some of that. Any way, really wish I could have joined you, but it'll have to wait till another day. happy trails, ST
