Qveauriche,

Your post reminded me of a post by the_rich_janitor which I had bookmarked for posterity:

>>>The funny thing about the 3G debate;
Maturity tells the story (not necessarily in order).....

The first debate: Will CDMA even work?
2nd Debate: Will anyone besides Korea even deploy CDMA?
3rd debate: Will any major European company ever except CDMA?
4th debate: OK, besides, Ericsson, Nokia, Philips, Siemens and SGS Thompson, will any other Europeans except CDMA?
5th debate: How far behind is US wireless technology behind Europe
6th debate: Will Europe deploy 2.5G or 3G before US?
7th debate: How far behind the US will Europe be in deployment of 2.5G and 3G systems.
8th debate: Europeans: let's debate something new
9th debate: Define 3G?
10th debate: Japan/Europe vs. USA/Korea?
11th debate: Now, Japan vs. itself
12th debate: Europeans trying to figure out which technologies are actually considered 3G
13th debate: WCDMA vs. cdma2000
14th debate; Does QCOM have essential IPR in WCDMA
15th debate: How much essential IPR does QCOM have in WCDMA
16th debate: What will QCOM do about the WCDMA ASIC market
17th debate: How much of the WCDMA ASIC market will QCOM own
18th debate:................

My point is that after listening to these debates over the past few years, I have learned that the people who choose to throw darts at the future, usually end up debating a non-issue and their predictions come back to haunt them. Amazing how these same people never admit defeat and just find a new debate that will not have an outcome for years to come. It's in the earnings you all.
