I think Les is the greatest, but he is confused re shortability and marginablity. Just because there is no margin credit on bulletin board stocks does not mean that one cannot short them. This falsehood has a legendary life of it own on the chat boards. The fact remains that if one can borrow a stock, then that stock can be sold short. Just because a brokerage firm does not want to bother with a given stock because there is no margin rebate does not make it illegal. OTC BB stocks that have borrows get sold short all the time (as well they should be) "(EGBT cannot legally be shorted by a U.S. person because it is not marginable)"
