I wouldn't trivialize either demonstration. AMD has shown that Hammer silicon has limited functionality in the A0 silicon, which is good if they want to launch by the end of the year. With Hammer, they are going to have a very competitive solution with respect to Intel. They have a long way to go, but progress is progress, and most of us engineers can get a small ping of excitement out of such a demonstration.
Meanwhile, I think Intel's demonstration is much more significant in terms of future revenue. With the power of Intel's PCA architecture, and the low power that it's able to reach, Intel could end up gaining huge amounts of market share in the PDA and Cell Phone markets, as well as many others.
While AMD's is interesting, it still says, "We're still not going to be rolled over by the Intel steam roller," Intel's says, "We're coming out to get brand new markets, and we have the products to do it." So yes, Intel's is very interesting, but from an AMD investor's perspective, so was theirs.
