That Corinthians passage is a true beauty ...it is a pure reflection on the Buddha's Sermon at Rajastan i just posted for you.

And I don't doubt in the sincerity of John when he believes

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son [2] into the world that we might live through him.
10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for [3] our sins.

But it is untrue , and relegated to only one small part of the world , or may be taken symbolically or that Jesus and John saw as Buddha saw before them and expounded for so many years on before ...so patiently and with much love and compassion.

It was a far far better world for John and for Jesus who both came after , that there had lived the Buddha in it .

So much of the "truth" & "revelation" had already been
done for both of them , and they were lucky enough to grasp their own compassionate Buddha~natures in a later place and time.

All branches from the same tree of truth...if love be universal .

* I love that Corinthians passage....thanks.

;-)
