Well, he only lied about the sex - and even then it's arguable. I don't say I've had sex with a woman when a BJ's all I've had.
If he'd lied about something relevant, like colluding in fraud, or accepting thinly-disguised bribes, or directing policy for the good of friends and colleagues when such was not in the best interests of the country... that's a different matter.
It's about the only area of politics where IMO the French have the right idea. Who cares who, what or how a pol has sex with? it's their work performance that matters, not the bedroom one.
