I guess some analysts don't get excited about CDMA 2000 1xEV-DO.

I think it is going to be tough for COM DEV to succeed. The problem that they have is that they are offering complete basestations for 1xEV-DO when many wireless operators are only going to be looking for new channel cards. This is what is currently happening in Korea. The first phase (26 cities) of SK Telecom's build-out is going to be done with new Samsung channel cards.

During the CC, COM DEV indicated that SK Telecom would need to add about 15% more basestations to certain areas because there current 1x basestations are operating at capacity. This is kind of hard to believe....but, if true, would represent there biggest opportunity.

Perhaps a PCS build-out in the MMDS band would also be a possability....the problem is that by the time most US operators build 1xEV-DO, the other major infrastructure manufactuers (LU and NT) will be ready with their DO offerings.
