MUST READ!!! mmO2 to reconsider 3G network building contracts 09:29 Friday March 1, 2002, Reuters
mmO2 announced on February 28 it was reviewing its contracts for the building of 3G networks in the UK, Germany and The Netherlands. Nortel would build mmO2's UK network, Nokia its 3G network in Germany, and Ericsson its Dutch network. But since it demerged from the BT Group last year, it fully owns all of its divisions, which enables it to bring in one company to build all its networks. Therefore, the company is reviewing the provision of network infrastructure and dual-mode (3G) handsets and is currently in talks with network providers.
My take is: they will reduce the vendors to two.

Who's gonna get the lion share?
