But there are people who did trust them. Trusted their company reputation. Trusted that since they were state licensed and SEC regulated that they would act appropriately. Trusted their expertise because of said license. Trusted that these college educated Finance and General Business majors were qualified to be anything more than used car salesmen. Trusted that since they were paying, the pimps were adhering to some code of fiduciary duty. Trusted that these pimps understood risk.

And they were taken to the cleaners. For believing the broker pimp industry image marketing spiel. And these very same people will egt taken to the cleaners as the economy recovers. First by selling on the recommendations now, some by being enticed to short sell, and some by being enticed to buy back in when the getting out is good.

And the Pimp all the while smiling and appearing to be doing his/her fiduciary duty. And the Pimps go home every night happy with another days job of lying and cheating for a living.
