Steve,

The Turbo Tax software I use to file has a place to list "worthless stocks" even though
you haven't sold. I believe you can technically deduct the loss just as you would an actual one.

I sell some of my HGRM each year in order to offset gains in other stocks. At least it has been
good for something other than a grim lesson in corporate chicanery.
