Another nice post, Tim.

As I dig through it for responses, I think I'm going to be rehashing much of what I've already said. I think where we have to agree to disagree is about the issue of the social limits which should be placed on corporate behavior.

I could argue that issue with you for sometime but the further we get into it the more we get OT and the more your point about boring our threadmates becomes relevant.

If I were to continue I would fill out the following points:

1. There are already in place a number of social limits on corporate behavior that most of us would agree are a good thing. We could debate the principle and the illustrations.

2. The question as to whether any given set of limits is too injurious is much too narrowly focused when framed as simply an economic question or as you nicely do as an economic/technology issue. We could debate the principle and the illustrations.

My guess is that we would get back to a difference at the basic level which is whether it's a good thing to have social limits on economic behavior.

If you think differently, fire away.

Or, your turn, then perhaps we should fade this string of posts away.
