wx? I was at Troy in March last year and got hit by the worst snow storm in 5 years.... Yeah a cold place (on upside less slush, ice and mess than Boston).. depressed former industrial town. If the guys get me a green-card and I get to be a tenured professor in 3 years (in economics instead of geography - they are about the only econ department that will take on a geography PhD like me - econ pays more in the US) well I don't have to stay there forever after that.... that's what I'm figuring. It is one of the top places in my specialty - they have about 20 PhD students in Ecological Economics - that is the biggest program anywhere and that is the grad program there basically.

But Clark in Worcester (that is also cold) is a better location and they have a very strong environmental geography program - but I still need to interview there in a couple of weeks time. Then we'll see what happens.
