Eric: I have a difficult time understanding why SAP would indicate the line code. I can understand not touching the table schema's "which are in German", but to indicate the physical network devices to a customer isn't realistic. Our companies SAP deployment is the other way around... The SAP architects talk to the networking group, which will make the decision on the networking devices. I just can't see a software developer recommending to the network group a line code. As a software developer I certainly hope you will support both... your software will work on any TCP/IP connect, which is number of layers above the Physical and Data Link layers. ... until later.
